$$ Nourishment $$
After a long day of fasting, it is important to break your fast with the right foods so you can use your energy productively in accomplishing your academic & spiritual goals
Avoid overeating at Iftar. Rather, have a light meal to break your fast, rest, then start studying with snacks along the way
Consider eating slow releasing energy foods (eg: brown rice, porridge, bananas, etc) as that will fill you up for longer
Hydration is a must! Aim to have at least 1-2 litres of water per day. Sip throughout the night and eat high-water content fruit (e.g. watermelon) for proper hydration. This will also prevent headaches
As important as it is to take care of ourselves, Ramadan is known to be the month of continuous giving and charity. If able, consider donating to these organizations/campaigns

$$ Reflection $$
Take this opportunity to ask these questions before Ramadan starts;
What is something I can do differently this Ramadan in compared to previous ones?
What are some bad habits I would like to avoid during this month?
What can I be more grateful for during this month?
What acts of worship have I been neglecting previously but I can do more of this month?
What are some ways I can increase my knowledge of Islam during this month?
What are my long-term goals out of this month?
As much as we would like to go all out in Ramadan, keep in mind the following Hadith
“Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately and know that your deeds will not make you enter Paradise, and that the most beloved deed to Allah’s is the most regular and constant even though it were little.” Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as narrated by A’isha رضي الله عنها in Sahih Bukhari, vol. 8, hadith 471
